Polish community prays for the Pope April 1th, 2005

There is a mass with prays for the Pope John Paul II at St. Stanislaus Church today, Friday, 7:00pm. All are welcome.

Portland Chamber Orchestra January 29 and 30, 2005

The concert will feature Slavic composers including Henryk Gorecki and Wojciech Kilar. The guest pianist will be Waldemar Malicki, one of the best pianists in Poland. The first and the second half of the concert will be introduced by a dance performed by the Polish dance group "Sobotka", which will also dance after the concert. Please, make a reservation for that day.

Polish Library January 24th, 2005

The Polish Library is located in the Polish Hall building at 3432 N. Interstate.
It offers books and films in Polish as well as English language.
The Library is open to the public every Sunday, 12:00-2:00pm, and on Friday evenings, 6:30-9:00pm.
If you are a member of the Polish Library Building Association (PLBA), or a member of the Polish Library you can rent the books and movies.
Recently, the Library purchased over 30 new movies and 50 new books from Poland.

Polonus January 24th, 2005

The band plays a broad variety of dance and party music, which includes not only most of popular Polish pop and folk songs, but also many American and European hits.
The Polonus band was created 5 years ago. For all these years, many local Portland-area Polish musicians and vocalists have performed with the band. For most of the time however, Polonus has been lead by its current musical director Marcin Pietrzak.
